MADAME BUTTERFLY
For him, she is disposable...
For her, he is the world.

The Pinnacle Singers are proud to present their radical and scandalous reimagining of Puccini's spectacular opera Madame Butterfly.

Featuring an all-new translation reframing the story in a shocking new way, this specially revised version will be recorded as an album for release on streaming platforms worldwide in 2026.

Madame Butterfly tells the story of a Japanese girl wed to an American officer stationed there. He understands her as a convenient 'war wife' whereas she thinks she is his beloved. Trafficked from her family at a vulnerable age and groomed to be a child bride, she mistakes his predatory intentions for kindness and allows herself to fall for his charms. When he returns to America, only hope of their reunification will sustain her... but at what point does hope become delusion? And would his return bring the joy she lives for, or yet another shocking betrayal?
